Scary Letter To The Editor Today

From today’s lubbockonline:

Re: Sagging pants issueI just wanted to offer my opinion on the sagging pants issue. Can this dress code really be enforced? What about all the girls who run around showing their butts with their short shorts and the small tops showing off their breasts? What is the difference? I personally think we cannot tell people what to wear but, if we can, should it not be the same for everyone?EVA CORONADO/Shallowater

Eva, Eva, Eva…there is no way that this will happen, nor should it. Personally, I don’t think Lubbock needs a dress code, but lets look at why they might want one. The city of Lubbock would be targeting thugs, for the most part, with this new rule. I don’t think they will be going up to the 70+ year old men who have sagging pants. Lubbock wanting to start a War Against Sagging Pants just shows that they still want to be like Dallas and every other big city that Lubbock just isn’t.

Now, I agree that no one wants to see another guys underwear. There just isn’t a need to sag your pants. However, I am perfectly fine with the ladies wearing short shorts and tank tops exposing themselves. In fact, I call on the good looking chicks, or dames (for those of you who post on the  Lubbock Online forums) to wear shorter/tighter/low cut items more. This isn’t for sex appeal my friends, it’s for safety. The more skin the ladies show, the less the LPD has to worry about where they might be hiding weapons. Wearing less for women can also boost their self confidence and that’s what we need more of in todays society. Hot women of Lubbock, show what you have and be proud of it, but be tasteful. Just because they make it in your size, or you can crisco your way into the shorts, doesn’t mean you should.
