Rick Perry Announces Special Session for July 1st.

Gov. Perry Announces Special Session for July 1

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today announced that a special session of the Texas Legislature will begin on Wednesday, July 1, at 10 a.m.

“The 81st Legislative Session was one of the most successful in recent memory, providing a tax cut to 40,000 small businesses and increasing financial aid for college students by more than 40 percent, all without touching our states Rainy Day Fund,” Gov. Perry said. “After speaking with legislators I am calling a special session to extend the operation of five critical agencies and help reduce gridlock by continuing to provide options for financing our state’s highways.”

The special session will consider the following issues:

·         Legislation extending the existence of five state agencies that were subject to sunset review by the 81st Legislature that would otherwise be abolished without legislative action, and to change the review schedule for certain state agencies to balance the Sunset Advisory Commission’s workload. These agencies include the Texas Department of Transportation, Texas Department of Insurance, Texas Racing Commission, Office of Public Insurance Counsel and Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation.
·         Legislation allowing the Texas Department of Transportation to issue general obligation bonds, which have already been approved by voters, for highway improvement projects, and for the creation, administration, financing and use of a Texas Transportation Revolving Fund to provide financial assistance for transportation projects.
·         Legislation extending the authority of the Texas Department of Transportation and a regional mobility authority to use comprehensive development agreements to design, finance, build and maintain transportation infrastructure.

THE CHAD HASTY SHOW MAKES IT ON COUNTDOWN WITH KIETH OLBERMANN

So I woke up this morning to a large amount of emails that the show made national news last night on MSNBC, and they were right! On Monday’s LFN we interviewed U.S. Congressman Randy Neugebauer, and we got into the topic of him being a co-sponsor of a bill that would require future Presidential candidates to show proof of U.S. citizenship. Neugebauer went on to say that the bill isn’t going after Obama. I then asked if he believed Obama was a citizen, and Neugebauer said he didn’t know. Well that audio made it to MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann, who deemed Randy Neugebauer the “Worst Person in the World” with the source being “The Chad Hasty Show” (Sure, it happened on LFN but MSNBC isn’t the first to get confused on that so I don’t blame them).

While some may not like Olbermann, I have admit it’s pretty cool that they picked up this story. Here is the link to the full video (LINK).

UPDATE: NEUGEBAUER NOT SURE IF OBAMA IS A U.S. CITIZEN

During an interview with U.S. Congressman Randy Neugebauer on Lubbock’s First News with Chad Hasty, Neugebauer said that he was not sure if President Barack Obama was a U.S. citizen because he had not seen evidence one way or the other.

For the past few days you’ve heard me talking the video feed that we are trying out during the morning show and the Saturday show. The cool thing about the video feed is that you can chat with others watching the show and us as well. You might have to sign up to chat, but it’s free and it should add something new to the show. MOST AMERICANS ARE CONSERVATIVES, BUT NO PARTY TO GO TO.

A new Gallup poll is out and it claims that 40% of Americans identify themselves as conservative. Only 21% view themselves as Liberals. 35% of America is moderate. What’s interesting about the study is that 22% of Democrats consider themselves conservative.

The GOP would have a great chance of taking the house back and in a few years taking back the White House, but they have to find someone who is Conservative and get on message. The GOP also needs to define how conservative they are going to be. Maybe each of the candidates needs to write an essay called, “What Being A Conservative Means To Me”.
